Lakeway, TX

Lakeway is the lake town. Lake Travis on one side, the Hill Country on the other, three golf courses, the marinas, and neighborhoods that run from original 1970s lake cottages to Rough Hollow, The Hills and the custom homes on the water. You get more house and more view for the money than in Westlake, and the trade is the commute, thirty to forty-five minutes to downtown depending on the hour.

My buyers here are mostly people who've decided the lake is worth it: remote workers, families in Lake Travis ISD, second-home buyers from Houston and Dallas, and 1031 investors looking at lake rentals. What they ask about is waterfront versus lake view, which sections flood or lose their water when the lake is low, HOA and marina rules, and what a boat slip actually adds. Sellers ask how to price a house with a view when the house next door doesn't have one. That's a real question and it has a real answer.
